Affiliate Landing Page
An affiliate landing page is one of the most important factors if you are going to make a success of your website. What is an affiliate landing page you ask? Well to put it simply, it is the page that your visitors arrive to your website at when they click on your link.
Usually landing pages are used when marketers opt for a pay per click campaign, but is also applicable should you pursue high placing in the search engine’s organic results.
Depending on your product, your landing page doesn’t have to be your homepage. For example, you may well wish to send your visitors to a page constructed to promote a special offer. There are a number of factors that you need to consider for your affiliate landing page, here are a few:
First of all you should decide what product you want to promote on your landing page, or if you want to showcase all of your products and hope that your visitor clicks a link to a separate landing page for each. Depending on how good your products are it could work for you, however it should be noted that too much choice can confuse a visitor and loose you a sale.
Once you have decided on the format of your landing page, you need to have a clear train of thought of what you want to achieve. If you want to make sales there and then, you need to have enough information that will convince the visitor to make a purchase. If it doesn’t, then the visitor is likely to leave your website.
Perhaps you want to persuade other website owners to promote your product in your own affiliate program? If you do, you need to make sure any questions that fellow marketers are likely to have, such as payment information and any “small print”.
You may have other goals from your website, perhaps you wish to build up a list of e-mail addresses to attempt to make repeat sales later on? If you do, make sure you give a visitor a reason to hand over their e-mail address. A free newsletter is usually a good way of doing that.
You need to be aware of the links that are on your landing page. For example be wary of having to many links as you need to keep your visitors attention on your sales pitch. Try to avoid links to other websites if possible as it could result in them gaining a sale that could have been yours.
Depending on what you want to achieve from your website’s campaign, the answers to the above factors will differ. Ultimately you will want every visitor to your website to make a purchase, or hand over an e-mail address for future use. The chances of you making a sale with every visit is unlikely, so you need to concentrate on giving yourself the best chance of making that happen.
As an online entrepreneur you need to know what you want from your affiliate landing page in order to make it a success. Once you have a clear idea of what you want your visitors to do, you can then create your landing page specifically to achieve the desired result.
