Good Business Affiliate Programs
There are a lot of different affiliate programs available online, all of which are touting for you to start to promote them. With so much choice available to you, how do you know how to choose a good business affiliate program?
Well there is no correct answer to this question, the truth is it varies. There is a lot to consider when deciding how to choose good business affiliate programs, here are some of the important factors.
There first thing you need to consider is your market. If you have a website that is, or is relatively established, then you should find a product that will appeal to your websites audience. You should also only look to sell a product in a subject that you are knowledgeable of.
If you are going to promote a product, then you need to know how much commission that you can and will earn from it. You may like the look of a few different products, which could vary in the amount of commission paid. Along with the commission rate, you need to work out how much money you will actually be paid per sale. If you are new to affiliate sales then take a few minutes to work out the amount of cash you could make per transaction on each of the products that you are interested in.
For example, you could consider promoting a product that costs $20 and offers you a 50% commission. This will give you $10 for every sale that you make. Another product could offer you 35% commission on a $35 product. This would give you around $12 to $13 per sale. It may not look that much extra, but if you are a success it could amount to a lot of lost money. You need to work out the maths on this one!
Once you have worked out the commissions on a product, you need to look closely at the programs terms and conditions. Read the rules closely and all of the small print before you decide to join a program or promote a product. Unfortunately they are some very non affiliate friendly programs out there, such as those which will only earn a marketer commission if somebody buys the product directly from the affiliate link, instead of storing a cookie that can last for a while earning the affiliate commission if the customers returns at a later date. If there is a program like this one, you may be better of avoiding it!
As well as that, you need to read the payment terms. Many payment terms differ greatly, some will pay you once you reach a certain level, such as $100, others only pay at set intervals, such as three months. Choose the program that will suit your financial needs the most.
Finally before you decide on which program to promote, take another look at their sales page. Have a read of it and decide if you would like to purchase the product. If the sales pitch is good and makes you at least consider purchasing it, then it is more than likely that other people will think the same and consider it, meaning it’s worth trying to promote.
If the sales pitch page is confusing or not written well enough to make you want to purchase the product, then likewise other people are likely to react like that to.
So there you have some aspects to consider which will help you choose a good affiliate program to promote. Some will prove to be more successful than others, but if you consider all of the above, you will more often than not choose the more suitable product for you and your website.
